If engineers had their way, all six sides of a box would be captured in the same shot. Of course this isn’t possible nor is it likely to be visually appealing. Light, shadow and a little imagination are what a photographer uses to suggest what isn’t readily apparent. I have photographed everything from surgical stints and microchips to bus-sized cabinets full of electronics to modified NASCAR racecars, both in the studio and on location. Whether it is consumer product photography or commercial and industrial equipment photography, meticulous attention to detail is required. In the end, its all about making the product look good.
